Alison Anderson

Dr Alison Anderson is Emeritus Professor at the University of Plymouth, UK. She has over 30 years' experience of working in the environmental communication field. Her first book, Media, Culture and the Environment (Routledge, 1997) was one of the earliest to examine media representation of environmental issues in the UK. She is author of numerous publications on climate change and the media including Media, Environment and the Network Society (Palgrave, 2014) The Routledge Handbook on Climate Crisis Communication (Routledge, 2025) co-edited with Candice Howarth. Alison is past Editor-in-Chief of the Routledge journal, Environmental Communication. Her current research focuses on climate education in secondary schools.
